Dana Engler Logistics Calgary, Alberta, Canada Biography The challenge is to pin him down. His outdoor and community interests mirror his wide and varied career in a large energy corporation. Dana's role at work takes him across North America where, when the opportunity presents itís self, he pursues his outdoor interests such as attempting Mount Rainier in June 2007. With a mischievous grin he will tell you that his greatest achievement is to have trained those he works with not to expect him in the office when the sun is shining. ![]() The outdoors is a constant in Dana's life, from early childhood growing up in Eastern Canada exploring rivers on home made rafts to teaching his children the joy of wilderness canoeing, backpacking, and climbing in the Canadian Rockies. The national parks west of Calgary provide Dana the perfect training ground to pursue his running and triathlon competition goals. ![]() Dana has served the communities he has lived in as a volunteer in many capacities and most recently he can be found helping out during local run competitions, as a volunteer trip leader for the Calgary Section of the Canadian Alpine Club, and as a volunteer on major backcountry hut maintenance and construction projects for the National Office of the Alpine Club of Canada. ![]() Dana has known Phill for about 20 years and most recently accompanied him on the Tillman Trek in Nepal during the fall of 2008. Nepal has become a focus of exploration for Dana after first travelling there on his own in 2006, trekking the Everest circuit with a porter and guide. ![]()
