Biography

Michael was formerly a professional tennis player. He competed from 1974-1983 on the men's pro tour globally. Michael competed in all the major events including 7 US Open's and in his prime was ranked in the top 50 in the world in both singles and doubles.

As a naturalist Michael has an insatiable appetite for the exploring the natural world. He has led thousands of adventurous spirits on hikes, walks and whale and dolphins tours over the past 20 years. Michael works under a group he created called Ecointeractions, whose mission is to combine scientific reserach, global conservation, in school and in the field education as well as tourism.

Michael's travels have led him to every continent on earth save Antarctica! He has visited over 70 countries.

"Every land has it's own unique character and every land has it's own speical way the humans as well as all other species have adapted to best survive upon it. This is precisely what I seek to uncover and experience in my travels."

Michael happily resides just beneath the loftiest mountain in Eastern North America in Celo, North Carolina with his wife Heather and their 3 children Sather, Delphi (pictured above with dad) and little Galen.
